Insurance & Billing

Insurance Coverage

If we are out of network, if your child is uninsured, if your insurance is not active at time of service, or if we do not file with your insurance plan, you may be responsible for payment in full at the time of service.

Insurance & Billing FAQs

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept most major insurance plans. Because networks change, we recommend contacting your insurance company to confirm that our practice is in network with your specific plan.

What if my child does not have insurance?

If your child is uninsured, payment is due at the time of service. Please call us in advance so we can review pricing and help you prepare for the visit.

Do you offer payment plans?

If you have a larger balance and need assistance, please contact our office. We’re happy to discuss available options whenever possible.

What should I bring to my child’s appointment?

Please bring:

  • Your current insurance card
  • A photo ID
  • Payment for your copay

This helps us check you in quickly and avoid billing delays.

Why did I receive a bill after my visit?

After your insurance processes the claim, you may still have a balance due. This can include:

  • Deductible amounts
  • Coinsurance
  • Services not covered by your plan

Your statement will show how your insurance processed the visit.

Why was a sick visit billed with my well check?

During a scheduled well-child visit, if your child has a medical concern that requires evaluation or treatment, the provider may address it during the same appointment.

Insurance companies often require this to be billed separately as a sick visit, which may result in additional cost-sharing depending on your plan.

In these cases:

  • The visit may be billed as both a preventive (well) visit and a sick visit
  • Your insurance will be billed accordingly
  • Any balance related to the sick visit portion will be your responsibility

This ensures your child receives the care they need without requiring a separate appointment.

How can I update my insurance information?

You can:

  • Upload it through the patient portal
  • Call our office so we can update your record
  • Bring your new card to your next visit

Keeping your information current helps prevent billing issues.

Understanding Your Benefits

While we are happy to submit claims on your behalf, we cannot guarantee coverage or payment by your insurance plan.

Your insurance policy is a contract between you, your employer, and your insurance company, and benefit details can vary widely.

We encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly if you have questions about coverage, deductibles, or out-of-pocket costs.
